2025 Enve Grodeo Builder Round-Up Part 1: No. 22, Holland, English, Bingham Built, Moots, Cicli Barco, Hoff, Mosaic, Weis, and Rizzo

Spencer got the opportunity to return to the Enve Composites factory in Ogden, Utah, for their Grodeo group ride and Builder Round-Up. Don’t miss the first of a two-part showcase featuring awe-inspiring custom bikes from an international cast of framebuilders and world-class gravel riding.

Enve puts on a huge event at their HQ in Ogden, Utah, each June. The Grodeo encompasses a showcase featuring unique custom-built bikes from many of Enve’s bespoke framebuilder clientele, a short-track race out the back door of the factory, and a 92-mile gravel ride as the icing on the cake.

Today, let’s dive into the deep end of the Builder Round-Up with a smorgasbord of bikes from all over the world. Considering that Enve has been making their own bike frames for several years now, I find it impressive that they still invite framebuilders new and old to participate in the showcase. This year’s lineup does not disappoint, so let’s get to it!

Enve Custom Road

With a dazzling and prismatic gold vein paint scheme, this Enve custom road was a real head-turner. The deeper you look, the more sparkle you see. This is one of the finest specimens of Enve’s unique full-custom road program, as it was fabricated, painted, and assembled all in-house.

From the frame to the cockpit, wheels, and even the tires, it’s all Enve, all the way. If you want a road bike that is all yours and 100% Enve, get in line today.

No.22 Bicycles Drifter X

No. 22 showed a variation of the Drifter X all-road bike. Starting with their award-winning Drifter model, the Drifter X is a platform that is comfortable on the road and eager to explore dirt, with an updated tire clearance of 42mm.

The bike was finished in No. 22’s Cobalt Cerakote/ Rose anodized finish with the details carried through the No.6 Composites gravel fork with its signature Ti name plate, No. 22’s own Ti cages, their bespoke fully internal 3D printed Ti stem and matching Ti headset, and of course, their signature titanium fenders. A SRAM Force drivetrain, a set of Enve G23s, and Enve AR SES handlebars perfectly complement the build.

Holland Rat Rod 50th Anniversary

The inspiration behind the Rat Rod build was derived from a photo sent over by a long-time client of Holland. The photo was of a patinaed pickup truck from the 1960s with a big block engine and some fat rear tires. This particular client has been a Holland Cycles supporter for more than 30 years and has a bike of every frame material that they have built with, Steel, Titanium, Exogrid, Carbon, and even an Exogrid Tandem! This was a fantastic opportunity to be given carte blanche as far as details, paint, layup, modulus, and geometry. This bike is truly custom in every aspect, from ride quality to aesthetics. With the wonderful assistance of Joe Bell, Holland was able to create a unique look from the frame to rims and hubs to the bottle cages, stem top cap, and computer mount.

HC Carbon layup with differing modulus, which is controlled in each tube through the lugged carbon design. Holland redesigned the rear stay for more clearance at the tire and rotor and has custom 6/4 Ti dropouts. The Busyman leather saddle and bar tape are the icing on the cake.

Weis Hammer Gravel Ti Plus

This is the Hammer Gravel Ti Plus in its first iteration. This particular bike is the first of its kind. Built specifically for team rider Max Hoffman, the frame features clearance for 57 mm tires, fully internal cabling, fork and top tube bosses for long haul days, the brand new frame-mounted Red XPLR 13-speed groupset, and a paint job from space.

For this frame to work, Weis had to rethink a few of the core elements of their designs. In order to fit such a wide tire, they needed to lengthen the chainstays to a whopping 425 mm and steepen the angle of the drive side yoke, while keeping ample room for a race-ready chainring. Enve’s Adventure fork was the perfect choice for this bike, with plenty of clearance and a rake number that puts the handling exactly in the right spot. Paired with the Enve In-Route headset system, the result is a clean-as-can-be race rig for the future.

Moots Routt CRD Blackbird

With the chassis of Moots’ renowned titanium Routt CRD, the Blackbird is equipped with fully internal routing, SRAM Red XPLR AXS, and a premium suite of ENVE components: Gravel IN-Route fork, AR One-Piece handlebar, SES 4.5 wheels, and Hex tires for confident grip across varied terrain.

Built exclusively for Grodeo, the Blackbird channels high-performance heritage and fuses it with the precision of hand-crafted titanium from Steamboat Springs, Colorado. In a striking departure from their signature anodized finish, Moots partnered with Black Magic Paint to deliver a jet-black frame layered with gold detailing. The Moots Blackbird, like the automobile it pays homage to, is a modern American classic and makes good on Moots’ mission of the relentless pursuit of the perfect ride.

English Cycles Ultimate Commuter

After working hard every day to create dream bikes for his clients, Rob English has little time for maintaining his own machines. He needed a reliable transport for his 28-mile commute. Using the Enve aero cockpit and wheels helps reduce the travel time. The Gates belt drive and Shimano internally geared hub provide a weather-proof, maintenance-free drivetrain. Integrated fenders make rainy days less arduous, and the built-in pannier rack provides a secure place for his laptop and gear. The rear light is integrated into the seat mast for visibility.

Rob built the first version of this bike in 2009, and it has lived up to its brief, clocking up the miles and asking for very little in return, just the occasional new tire! This updated model continues the theme in a lighter, more aero and modern package, and will hopefully be similarly fine with being ridden and neglected for the next 15 years.

Cicli Barco Quinta Strada

Since the early 2000s, Cicli Barco has been perfecting the fusion of Columbus XCr stainless steel and high-performance carbon fiber – a combination that reflects the pinnacle of their framebuilding expertise. Signature elements like the hand-printed junctions and the integrated seatpost have become hallmarks of their Quinta Strada road frames, striking a perfect balance between structural integrity, refined aesthetics, and exceptional ride quality.

This year, they set out to push the boundaries even further by embracing advanced technologies and structural innovations. They introduced their first Integrated Stealth Post, a custom-designed UDH dropout for enhanced drivetrain compatibility, and the Zero headtube for fully integrated cable routing with the latest 1 1/2″ cockpit systems. This special edition features a distinctive “Primitiva” marble-effect finish on the XCr tubeset, paired with a sleek glossy coat on the Italian UD carbon.

Bingham Built Custom Titanium

Bingham Built frames are made solely in their shop in Steamboat Springs, Colorado, USA. They create all kinds of bikes. Gravel, road, mountain, cross, fat, tandem, commuters, and everything in between. Their frames are crafted from the bottom up, one at a time, and specifically designed for each rider. Since their bikes are not mass or batch produced, they don’t carry stock sizes or have specific models. They don’t have marketing campaigns or a sales team either. They’re just a small group of people on a mission to create amazing rider experiences and the best-performing, high-quality titanium bikes around.

Hoff Cycles & Wolf Tooth Custom

This project came to life through a desire to build a genre mash-up of a bike that didn’t yet exist. The geometry is informed by a World Tour proven race bike, ridden by a certain black and yellow squad at Roubaix. On paper, an aggressive low stack and long reach pair with a super tight wheelbase and 58 mm of trail for telepathic handling and rock-solid power transfer in or out of the saddle. The BB drop and trail figures are based on a 36 mm tire, with max clearance for a 40 mm, further blurring the lines between a race bike and an endurance machine. Fillet brazed at Adam Hoff’s new shop in Bethlehem, PA, it is custom in every way possible. They hand-selected tubes together with Carl from Metal Guru and Diego from Columbus.

The design started with the headtube. Trying to reduce the frontal area of the bike and taking advantage of the low stack an IS52/52 headset provides, Adam took two Columbus Spirit HSS tapered headtubes, halved them, and created a beautiful hourglass headtube by hand. They then used a massive GX shape Spirit HSS downtube for stiffness, a 28.6 round-to-oval 35.0 flattened top tube for confident handling, CX S-Bend Life chainstays, a Life seat tube, and an 85.5mm T47 Internal BB shell. Finally, Carl custom-bent some Columbus seatstays for us as icing on the cake. Zach and Adam made a call the week before Grodeo to display the bike raw, unpainted, as it was when Adam finished construction. In order to achieve a rust-free clearcoat, the frame was cerakoted clear before being sanded, having the logos, fade, and a first coat of clear applied, then sanded again before Todd applied the final clearcoat.

Built around a forward, aggressive riding position, the bike features a zero-setback seatpost and a 130 mm / 41 cm Enve Pro Aero Cockpit, SES 4.5 wheels running Challenge Strada Bianca 36 mm HTLR tires, a TRP Vistar drivetrain and brakes with Classified Powershift System, Classified carbon cranks, Wolf Tooth pro issue purple 52T chainring for Classified, a 10-36T cassette, and a SRAM Red rainbow chain. Finished with a newly released Wolf Tooth T47 Internal Bottom Bracket, IS52/52 Premium Aero Internal Headset for Enve IN-Route, seatpost clamp, rotor lockrings, and UDH hanger in Ultraviolet Purple, oil slick titanium bolts, and limited edition Cloudburst Morse titanium bottle cages.

The story behind the ABRACADABRA headbadge comes from a book Adam happened to be reading when he was taking the Metal Guru framebuilding course in late 2021. It’s called Christ Stopped at Eboli by Carlo Levi. First published in 1945, it’s a memoir of the author’s time when he was sent to live in exile in a remote region of southern Italy during Mussolini’s rule.

Levi found the people in the region had no religion and no modern medicine so they wore amulets around their necks with the triangular ABRACADABRA design on them in order to cure whatever was ailing them, to ward off evil spirits, or simply to bring good luck. When I read the short passage describing the amulets, I thought it was the perfect thing to make into headbadges to put on the front of my bikes.

It seemed appropriate and accurately described some of what riding bikes does for me. After doing a bit of research on it, it turns out that word (or versions of it) was used in that form for centuries in many different cultures for much the same reason. It was only sometime during the last century that it evolved into the magician’s magic word that we know it as today.

Mosaic GT-1 i45

The Mosaic GT-1 i45 in their Nebula Artist Series is a singular expression of performance, craftsmanship, and artistic collaboration. Handbuilt in Boulder, Colorado, the titanium GT-1 i45 is engineered for high-performance gravel riding, featuring oversized tubing, progressive geometry, and clearance for 45mm tires to ensure speed and stability across varied terrain. This limited-edition build is the result of a special partnership with Velosmith Bicycle Studio in Chicago – one of the country’s premier custom bike retailers – bringing together two passionate forces in bespoke cycling.

This GT-1 i45 is fully outfitted with a complete ENVE Composites package, including carbon wheels, cockpit, and fork – delivering a seamless integration of lightweight precision and all-terrain capability. The Nebula paint finish, part of their Artist Series, evokes the swirling drama of deep space with rich gradients, cosmic shimmer, and shifting tones that evolve in the light. It’s more than a gravel bike – it’s a functional work of art, created in collaboration with the best, and built for riders who demand the extraordinary.

Rizzo Titanium All-Road

Handmade in Madrid with Columbus Hyperion tubing, Rizzo Cycles’ titanium all-road bike is a masterclass in modern framebuilding. This frame shows off a full suite of custom 3D-printed components: from the dropouts to the seat cluster and upper part of the headtube. By combining CNC and 3D printing technology, the size-specific head tubes create a unique and clean front end for each frame. Outfitted with a custom Chris King AeroSet headset, the result is an uncomplicated contemporary aesthetic that doesn’t compromise on performance, timeless in terms of durability and look.

What sets this bike apart is its balance and adaptability: aggressive enough for fast road miles, but built to handle dirt detours with 40c tire clearance and a geometry designed for stability and reactivity. In the same vein, this frame works with both 1x and 2x (Ruben’s preference being 1×13). Finished with in-house anodizing that accentuates every weld and shows process, this all-road build isn’t just custom—it’s a cohesive vision brought to life through craftsmanship and cutting-edge fabrication.
