2025 Sea Otter Classic Day 03: Bikes, People, and Products

John and Spencer are walking the dusty aisles of Laguna Seca for the 2025 Sea Otter Classic. For the Sea Otter Classic Day 03 gallery, we tracked down some of the amazing humans of the show, a few more amazing bikes we couldn’t resist…

Vvolt Slice Lite Gates Lowrider

Initially drawn to fun build and sparkling color, Spencer was surprised to find SRAM Level ULT brakes, White Industries hub and headset, as well as a Sim Works Stem. Someone put some love and attention into this E-cargo bike glow up.

Bridge Bike Works Surveyor Chubby Road Bike

Bridge Bike Works is a Toronto-based company founded in 2021 by Frank Gairdner and Mike Yakubowicz. The brand’s intent is to produce premium frames and forks entirely in North America. Frank brings extensive manufacturing expertise, recently having led Carbon Marine, a company building innovative carbon-fiber powerboats. His experience with composites and production drives Bridge’s commitment to quality and advanced technology.

Mike, a cycling industry veteran, contributes expertise in bike design, public relations, and distribution through his work with top brands in his Toronto shop, Blacksmith Cycle. Together, the team operates an 8,200-square-foot Toronto facility, overseeing every stage—tooling design, carbon layup, painting, and assembly—all entirely in-house.

Bridge’s debut model, the Surveyor, is an all-road bike that features a sub-1 kg frame, 40 mm tire clearance, and refined racing geometry (with a modern 78-80 mm bottom bracket drop). Notably, the fork is also manufactured by Bridge, making them one of the only North American manufacturers to tackle this complex and critical part. Priced at $5,999 CAD (approx. $4,300 US) for the frameset, it also delivers compelling value for a North American-made bike.

Ken’s Rizzo Cycles Ti Gravel with Hunt X Qvist

Ken went through a globe-spanning adventure to get this bike to Sea Otter in time — and barely at that. On the last day, Spencer was able to snag it away for a close-up with all its parts finally in place. Rubén has been creating some Ti magic over in Barcelona for a few years now, and Ken’s bike is no less a stunner.  Dont miss the Ti rotor lockrings from Ogle too!

Otso Molteni Orange Warakin All-Road

We brake for Molteni orange and our necks kept breaking at the stunning simplicity of this Otso Warakin single-speed build in the Wolf Tooth tent. Want to know more about the Warakin? Read Hailey’s excellent review of this fun platform.

Ortlieb-Equipped Revel Bikes Wayward

Synonymous with waterproof bike camping and touring bags, Ortlieb’s ever-expanding lineup has found resonance with the new generation of bikepack racers and campers alike. Displayed at its booth, this Revel was equipped with the brand’s Quick Rack rear rack with a Dry Pack, Old Man Mountain Axle Pack fork mounts, Fork Packs, and a Handlebar Pack. All waterproof!

Omnium Cargo Lavender Candy

Omnium’s pastel-colored bikes reminded us that Easter is right around the corner! Spencer shot the sea foam green Mini, and John grabbed this lavender Cargo for some beauty shots. Look at how that paint just glistens in the high noon California sun!

Viral Bikes Derive Pinion Hardtail

The Derive is one of the most unique hardtail offerings on the market right now and boy does that bike like to plow! The Pinion Smart.Shift gearbox keeps the weight of the bike as low and centered as possible and the ultralight titanium chassis means it flicks and plops down the trail with a light-footed prowess.

Scarab Páramo with Kogel Parts

Colombian-based framebuilder operation Scarab Cycles brought some straight heat to Sea Otter this year with a number of bikes being displayed in component manufacturers’ booths. This Paramo integrated all-road bike had some of Kogel’s new bottle cages and its SRAM Red Oversized Pulley Cage. We still can’t get over how sweet the brand’s paint jobs are.

John here. I just wanted to say I was so stoked to hug some fantastic humans on this trip. Scarlet Zeigler did an FKT on the Erie Canal at the age of 11 in 2021. Her dad then documented her new bike for our Readers’ Rides column this year. It was awesome to meet this bad-ass cyclist! Speaking of bad-asses, we all know Lachlan! Thanks to Spencer for capturing these (and so many other beautiful moments).

This is what this bike show is all about.

Thanks to everyone who stopped Spencer and me and complimented this website. Your comments (and Hunt‘s espresso) fueled our independent Reportage!
