2025 Grinduro Builders for Builders Fundraiser

Each year, California framebuilders come together for the Builders for Builders fundraiser to help raise money for the Sierra Buttes Trail Stewardship. The 2025 campaign launched at last weekend’s Grinduro, and while at the event, John documented the bikes. Let’s check them out and see how you can win a custom bike from one of these talented builders below!

Builder for Builders

Sierra Buttes Trail Stewardship is honored to partner with a select group of custom frame builders to give away one very special frame in this year’s Builders For Builders fundraiser! Each donation of at least $10 made between now and September 30, 2025, gets you a chance to win a custom frame handcrafted by Falconer, Mosaic, Neuhaus Metalworks, PrandusSignificant Other BikesRetrotecSycip, or Stinner Frameworks.

What You Win

The winner will select the fabricator of their choice from the list above to build the frame, which will then get a custom paint job and be outfitted with high-end components from Paul Components, White Industries, and WTB. Please note: This is a custom-handcrafted, one-off frame, and turnaround time to receive the finished bike depends on the existing builder queue. We will be in close contact with the winner on expected timelines once the fundraiser ends.

For those familiar with our 5 Bucks a Foot fundraiser, Builders for Builders shares a similar concept, with all proceeds from this campaign supporting Stewardship efforts to expand trails in the Lost Sierra.

Where Your Money Goes

The funds will specifically support several ongoing trail projects that will expand SBTS’s trailbuilding footprint south toward Truckee and east to Reno, as well as support plans to incorporate building techniques to create Fire Hardened Trails to manage vegetation for wildfire mitigation. These dollars will also contribute to the completion of the Beckwourth Peak Trail, a 13-mile non-motorized loop that starts from Portola City Park (home of the Lost and Found Gravel Festival) and can be linked with existing gravel roads to create a stellar gravel adventure route that features both double and singletrack.

The Trail Crew has less than a mile left to complete Beckwourth, albeit a challenging mile with intense rock work required. Dollars raised through fundraisers such as Builders for Builders are vital, as they bring in unrestricted funds, or funds that don’t require a costly match or significant staff resources to manage, as is customary with government grants.

Titanium. Aero integrated cockpit. Mosaic Cycles GT-1 iAR is a fully aero and integrated titanium gravel chassis. The masking on the downtube allows for the bead-blasted titanium to show through the slithering slick Scale finish. It never gets old showcasing one of these beauts from Mosaic Cycles!

Neuhaus Metalworks 32er

Another 32er from our 2025 Made Bike Show coverage, but this time with gears and covered in wonderful Plumas National Forest dust! Daniel Yang rode this bike at the 2025 Grinduro event and decked it out with Outer Shell bags.

John here. I wanted to apologize to Prandus for not documenting their bike at the showcase! I didn’t even realize they were showing at the event. My bad, homie. I owe you one!
